从前，村里住着一个妇人和她7个儿子。
孩子们，谁来帮我做家务啊？
妈妈，我来。
不，还是我来。
这个家经常出现类似的场景。
这个家很穷，一家人都挤在一间房子里，
但孩子们心地善良，都争着孝敬母亲，
兄弟间也情同手足。
一天晚上，大儿子半夜醒来，发现母亲没在家。
大儿子很纳闷，这么晚母亲会去哪里呢？
大儿子担心极了，几乎一晚上都没睡觉。
快天亮时，母亲回来了，轻轻地推开了门回到了房间里，
接下来的几天都是如此。
大儿子觉得很奇怪，所以一天晚上就悄悄跟在母亲身后出家门了。
大儿子看见母亲顶着严寒，一路往前，
母亲来到了溪水边，这里没有桥，母亲竟然赤脚蹚了过去。
大儿子看见母亲这样，心疼极了，
天这么冷，母亲竟然光脚蹚冷水
最终母亲到达了目的地一座茅草房前。
这里住着一个独居的老人。
整整一个晚上，母亲都在跟老人聊天，他们还互相搓背。
看来，母亲一直很孤单啊。
大儿子快步走回家，他决定和弟弟们为母亲建一座桥。
大儿子跑回家，唤醒弟弟们，对弟弟们说：
弟弟们，快起来，我们去帮母亲建一座桥吧！
大家连夜为母亲建了桥。
天快亮时，母亲回家，
在路上，母亲吃惊地发现溪水上竟然出现了一座桥。
天哪，这是谁做的好事啊？
老天爷，请保佑建桥的人死后可以升入天空，变成星星。
母亲不知道这座桥就是自己的儿子建的，她虔诚地祈祷。
许多年过去了，兄弟们相继去世了，
正如母亲祈祷的那样，兄弟们变成了星星。
这些星星就是北斗七星。
Seven Stars
Long ago， in a small village，
There lived a widowed old mother and her seven sons.
The sons helped out as much as they could，
But eight people living in such a small room was crowded.
Despite this， they were happy together.
Once， the eldest son woke up in the middle of the night.
Strangely enough， their mother was missing.
From that night on， the eldest noticed she always disappeared.
One evening， he trailed behind her
As she passed through fields， walking quickly，
Climbing hills and crossing the river with her bare feet.
The son worried about his mother trudging around in the cold.
Finally， she reached a small thatched house and walked in.
When he looked inside， he saw his mother and an old man，
Chattering away and scratching each other s backs.
How lonely she must have been without Father all these years！
He returned home urgently to tell his brothers what he saw.
The seven sons collected stones and worked through the night.
The mother returned to find a beautiful bridge to cross the river.
She prayed that God would make whoever built it into shining stars.
And the Big Dipper became etched across the sky.
As the seven stars glowed with the love of seven brothers，
For their mother s wish came true.
